I know it's been a month but hear me out! I have been working soooo hard this month. Trying to stay on top of projects and youtube and working, and having a social life lol. I haven't had much to time to write here, but now I have tons of work to show you guys if you don't follow me on any of my socials. Before I get into that, I want to say that I just reorganized my entire art schedule all the way through December 31st and I should be posting a blog once a week from now on (if I stay on top of it). I'm determined to stick with it though. It's a lot more helpful than any other schedule I've ever had because it allows me to be most productive without spreading myself too thin. Instead of trying to do a little of each thing every single day, I have specific tasks to complete on different days. For example, on one day I strictly draw. ALL DAY. Nothing else. On another day, I only film, edit, and upload youtube videos. On another day, I do promo, package orders, write art blogs (LOL), update inventory, etc. So now I can get a lot more done, and stay consistent!

Now first things first, an update on my current projects and what's to come. Right now, I'm finishing up on my NUDE collection which started with my Juicy Fruit painting. I'm currently working on Part II to that. Part III has already been finished because it was a smaller project. I should be done with Part II tonight, and then the final piece will be done within the week. After the collection is finished, I do really want to have a giveaway so someone can prints of the collection for free, but I haven't done a giveaway in so long that I'm actually kind of nervous about it lbs. I'm still going to do it, but my twitter followers be on some bullshit, it probably won't take off LMAO. And of course the collection will be on sale as a print package, individual prints, and framed originals. Here's the completed "Part III" and the WIP of "Part II":

I didn't film Part III and won't be filming the final NUDE piece either because I don't want to have too many NSFW videos on youtube that can't be monetized, but I have been filming Part II and the timelapse should be posted by Sunday night!

Moving on to UPCOMING projects. If you haven't seen Avengers End Game yet, this is a warning. This paragraph will contain spoilers lol. So as you know, after Mac Miller passed away, I drew his portrait with him holding balloons. I plan to do the same in the future for any other deceased person that I end up painting. Iron Man was my favorite Marvel hero and of course I had to do some kind of tribute to him, so for my next project, I plan to draw him with his balloons. Another trend I want to start is to draw these late and great people with happy expressions on their face. I don't want these pieces to be upsetting or emotional or make people sad, I want them to remember these people being happy and smiling! I never want my art to be dark or depressing.

Now you guys get to see all the work I've finished in the past month! Not a crazy amount, but definitely a lot more than I've finished in one month in a while! I finished my first Beyoncé character and uploaded a video talking about my thoughts on creating while you're depressed. After that I finished a very long commission (that I shipped off to England, I might add!) of Future. THEN, I finished a timelapse of me drawing Sonic the Hedgehog in my sketchbook, and discussed my thoughts on the pros and cons of creating original art vs creating art based on what's popular at the moment. Finally, I uploaded a lighthearted video of me judging some of my old portraits! Feel free to leave your comment on that video and roast my old shit. I WANT YOU TO.

Hola, my loves! I'm in such a great mood writing this blog post because my camera is finally back on track and has been letting me record ALL the footage and I'm so excited about it! Especially because I just signed with a new Youtube network and I being self-employed, I have all day every day to film youtube videos and I have sooo many projects I want to bring to my channel. I'm really trying to start uploading twice a week like I was doing back in 2016 when I was out of work. I'm trying to get really serious about it and build my channel and give you guys plenty of fun content. I wish I would have figured out what was wrong with my memory card in time to film my Derrick Rose painting but it's all good! Check out the finished product below.

I wanted to make prints so badly, but the weather has been up and down here and Chicago, and there hasn't been much sunlight. I photograph all my paintings to make prints, so I need the BEST natural light shining through my window in order to make them. So it took about three days after to get that kind of lighting. Then of course, once I finally got it, my printer decided to be an asshole that day and print everything magenta for some reason. I decided to give her a little break and come b ack to it later since that's usually the solution for random problems like that. I'll try again soon and then add them to the shop immediately. I did get to add the original to the shop though and I'll link it below.

I've already started filming a new video that should be up by this weekend. I was commissioned to paint the rapper Future, so that's what I've been working on all week. It's supposed to be a painting of him as a wizard and obviously reflect on his The Wizrd album. I don't listen to his music so I had to figure out what the vibe of the album was before starting on it but my client was very thorough and even sent me mock-ups of the look he was kind of going for while also encouraging me to put my own artistic flair on it, so that was cool. The timelapse filming has been going very smoothly and I should be finished with it in a couple days. Just have the cloak, face, book, and cane left but the background with all the dark clouds was the hardest part, so everything else should go more quickly. It's definitely different from what I typically do because I'm big on using bright, vibrant colors, but I'm enjoying the challenge.

While I'm working on this, I'm also working on my Beyoncé series and an original pastel painting project. ALL will be on youtube! I have a lot of topics I want to talk about and some helpful tutorials to bring to you guys as well. Don't forget that my sticker promotion is still going on. Only a week left in April so order your prints now if you want free stickers!

Man... you guys just don't know. I kind of touched on the difficulties I was having with it in my last blog post, but since then it has definitely gotten worse. I had issues with the wifi not working on and off and some printer malfunctions where it just wouldn't print things for half the day. Almost didn't get to ship orders out because I couldn't print stickers or labels. Then I spent all this these hours working on a creative resume so I can find a good art-related full time job with benefits and it wouldn't save! Then when I finally got it to save, it wouldn't upload to job applications! It was just a bunch of bullshit. But Mercury has finally gone direct. Not completely out of the woods yet, but getting there. I haven't yet tried to get my external hard drive to work. I'll give it another week. I've just been saving everything to my laptop. But I had so many projects to get done, and I couldn't keep waiting for my camera to let me film them, so I ended up starting on my Derrick Rose portrait and just deciding there wouldn't be a timelapse for it. I really wanted to be able to post it to Youtube but it just didn't work out that way.

I hate posting progress while it's still in the ugly stages lmao. But I think you guys know by now that my pieces start off ugly and end up looking completely different by the time they're done. I'm still putting down the first layers on Derrick, but I'm loving how the background is looking next to his skin and I can already tell how pretty it's gonna be! I'm definitely trying to get it done by the time his documentary comes out on April 11. I know, I know. Pandering. So gross LMAO. But hey, I'm a full time artist now. I gotta do what I gotta do haha. I'm also working on a character painting, a Beyoncé character drawing series, and a Future commission. I'm busy AF these days, but I couldn't be happier. I much prefer being busy over not having any work or any inspiration. Hopefully I can film some of these projects.

Due to not being able to film much, I had to get a little creative with the youtube videos I uploaded. I figured it would be a good time to get some tutorials up that didn't require any new footage. I used an old timelapse video of my self-portrait so I could show you guys how I go about drawing faces and making them as proportionally accurate as I can while free-handing. And while I was designing and printing some new Mac Miller stickers, I decided to record my screen and show you guys how I make my DIY stickers without the use of a machine. I know a lot of us don't have machines or maybe people can't afford them, or just don't sell enough stickers to find it useful to have one. So if any of these tutorials interest you at all, you can check them out below:

Fierce sticker pack

Speaking of stickers, I'm currently running a sticker sale! Get up to TWO free stickers for every print you buy until the end of April. ONE $2.00 sticker or TWO $1-$1.50 stickers. Just tell me what sticker you want in the "add a note" section at checkout and I'll throw it in with your order!

Also, I really want to thank anyone who has purchased anything from my shop in the past month, no matter how big or small your order was. I've sold more art from my shop the past few weeks than I have in the past SEVERAL months. I don't know what made sales boost so significantly lately, because I haven't changed my method of promotion or how often I'm doing it, but I'm definitely not complaining lol. You are appreciated!

Have a productive rest of your day :)
